The Brief

A converted barn with soaring ceilings and an Americana hunting room character required a centrepiece that could hold its own within the scale of the room. The client, a collector of contemporary craft, wanted a full-size pool table that read as furniture rather than as a game, together with storage for cues and accessories.

The Design

Bruno drew the proportions from the architecture rather than from convention. The table sits low and confident, its clean lines allowing the timber to lead. The cue rack was conceived as a sculptural object in live edge brown oak, suspended in resin, so that even when not in use it holds the room.

The Materials

European Oak was chosen for its warmth and figure, deepening with age. Brown Oak introduces a second voice in the same family. Hand cast brass pockets catch the light. The red cloth was selected to bring a single measured note of colour into a restrained palette.

The Result

The table has become the anchor of the room, read first as a piece of cabinetry and only second as something to play on. The cue rack stands on its own as a sculpture. The commission demonstrates how a games room can be led by furniture rather than by the game, defining an interior while delivering professional play.

Commissioned for the leisure wing of a country estate, the shuffleboard needed to sit within interiors of bleached oak and natural stone. The client asked for something that felt as though it had always belonged there.

The Design

Bruno worked from the existing palette outward. The table was drawn to the same proportions and tonal range as the surrounding architecture, so that it reads as part of the room rather than as an addition to it.

The Materials

Antique Oak was selected to mirror the interior tones. A scoring zone set within resin and a leather-lined gutter with personalised embossing complete the design, introducing individual details that reflect the character of the estate.

The Result

The shuffleboard brings people together in the way the client hoped. From across the room it appears to be a fine console; only on approach does the game reveal itself. The commission is a study in working from the room inward. It illustrates how bespoke furniture can settle into an interior as though it had always belonged, without compromising on play.

The piece was designed around the clean lines and upbeat character of the space, using restrained proportions and personalised details to connect the furniture with the company's identity.

The Materials

American Ash was used for the frame and playfield, stained in soft grey to complement the neutral tones of the interior. The company's identity was introduced through an embossed logo on the playing field and detailing within the leather-lined gutters.

The Result

The finished shuffleboard sits comfortably within the office while carrying subtle elements of the company's identity. It demonstrates how individually commissioned games furniture can bring craftsmanship, play and character into a contemporary workplace.
